Fierce and furious…
Frosted windows inside,
Trapped, furious, and fierce
‘Tis the season for poetry… and this time around, ELS brings to you a Palindrome Poem Competition. Palindrome Poems are governed by the following rules:
- You must use the same words in the first half of the poem as the second half, but
- Reverse the order for the second half, and
- Use a word in the middle as a bridge from the first half to the second half of the poem.
An example is given above. This concept can be extended from words to their spellings, a brilliant poem implementing this can be found here (the poem also inspired the blogpost title). We leave it to you to decide how far you want to take the idea.
In keeping with tradition, you could use winter as a theme, but since this is a new format, any other themes are welcome. Also, no length constraints. Best submissions get published on the blog, and the top three get books as prizes.
Mail your entries to firstname.lastname@example.org; multiple entries permitted. The last date for submission is 15th January, 2017.
